publicschool.com.au publishes general information about Australian government schooling. It is not a government website and does not provide professional advice or enrolment services.

This is an independent information guide. It is not a government website and is not affiliated with any state or territory education department, ACARA, or My School.

The material on publicschool.com.au is general information about how Australian government schooling is organised. It is written to help families find the official tools and to understand the difference between a local right, an out-of-area request, and a selective program. It is not a substitute for the school, the state or territory education department, or ACARA.

This is not a government website. It is not an agent of any department. It does not constitute professional advice.

No enrolment relationship

Nothing on this domain creates a place at a school. Completing a reading of a guide, sending a contact message, or following a link to a finder does not lodge an application. Only the school can enrol a student, and only under the policy that binds that school.

If a child is of compulsory school age, do not wait on a reply from this site. Contact the designated local school.

Rules change

Catchments are redrawn. Term calendars are revised. Starting-age statements are updated. Selective-entry residencies and test arrangements change. A paragraph on this site that summarises a departmental position can be overtaken by a new factsheet. Where that risk exists, the page tells you to confirm the live departmental text. If the two differ, the department wins.

This site does not reprint fee schedules, NAPLAN figures, cut-off scores, or year-specific date tables. The absence of a number is intentional. Inventing one would be worse than sending you to the source.

Official names, trademarks, and maps

Names of departments, programs, finders and campuses are used to identify official sources. Those names remain the property of their owners. Links to School Finder, Find my School, EdMap, Schools Online, PEA maps, NT priority enrolment maps, and My School are provided as references. This site does not claim to operate those tools.

Unofficial maps, including real-estate diagrams, are described as unofficial because departments have said so. If you enter a housing contract on the strength of a school zone, you do that against the official finder, not against a paragraph here.

Limitation

To the extent permitted by Australian law, the publishers of publicschool.com.au are not liable for decisions made solely on the basis of this general information, including a missed enrolment window, a travel booking made against the wrong calendar, or an out-of-area application that was not offered a place. Use the school and the department for decisions that affect a child.

If you need legal advice about a dispute with a school, speak with a qualified lawyer. If you need advice about a visa and school enrolment, use the department’s international-student information and a qualified migration adviser. If you need advice about a child’s learning or disability, use the school’s support processes and appropriately qualified practitioners.

The footer on every page states that content is for general information only and does not constitute professional advice, and that trademarks and brand names are the property of their respective owners. That sentence is not decoration. It is the terms on which these pages are offered.

Questions families ask first

Can I rely on this site instead of the education department?

Does this site offer professional advice?

No. Nothing here is legal, migration, financial or educational-psychology advice.

Who is responsible for a school place?

The school and the education department. This independent guide does not offer places, run tests, or decide zones.
